Now, now. What else? There’s the PSN, there are free games, and what? It’s a hell of a gaming week again! I’m so glad Sony is doing their best to attract their consumers once again. I bet this is gonna be history. Back when the XBOX360 was hacked, there’s no other solution for Microsoft but to ban those consoles. As for Sony, they have this and that, and I’m so sure that PS3 gamers out there are fully satisfied, once the PS Store came back. I’m so excited, by the way.

Thanks to a fellow user in TipidPC.com. He hinted where to find a reliable source about the current state and plans for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Network outage this whole week. The announcement that includes the notice and plans of Sony for the PlayStation 3 and the service is written in Japanese (translated to English through Google Translate) as an HTML file by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, wherein it clarifies that once the PSN is up, upon user’s login to the PlayStation Network, there will be a prompt that a firmware upgrade to version 3.61 is needed to continue. It even says that these scheduled plans are coming “soon” so we still have to cope up with our own patience. Also, as I’ve reminded you all before, a password change is needed so that we can surely protect our accounts once again.
|> Slipknot – Before I Forget
We all knew the news, from here, that our PlayStation’s online service, the PlayStation Network will be up and running again starting on May 3. And that’s 2 days to go.
Well, Sony and company agreed to something that will make their users get attracted and start using the service again. That is, free 1 month subscription to the PlayStation Plus service. For those who are regular PlayStation Network users, they will have a free one month free trial of the said service. On the other hand, users who are already subscribed to the service will have the chance to get free 1 month instead of paying their bill for that month. Good thing? for some I guess.
Because of this free blah~blah, I’m getting more excited to go and play multiplayer games again. It’s ben a while and that’s what I’m feeling. I’m sure you too…! xoxo
|> Bleeding Through – Salvation Never Found
I’m sure a lot of you are getting so thirsty in accessing the multiplayer features of your PS3s. Well, here’s a good news. According to the PlayStation Blog, the service will be up and running again starting on May 3rd. Believe it or not, this is official. Hackers of the PlayStation Network (if there really is, how many they are, and what they did with our accounts, we don’t have a clue) still have 3 days to celebrate their selfish masterpiece for hacking the service. Also, Sony promised that they’ll get revenge against them, for their money-sake, and for the PS3 users-sake. Oh God’s sake! Here’s what the news says:
Sony has confirmed that it hopes to restore some fuctionality to the PSN service by next Tuesday in a new statement on the PlayStation Blog.
“Our employees have been working day and night to restore operations as quickly as possible, and we expect to have some services up and running within a week from yesterday. However, we want to be very clear that we will only restore operations when we are confident that the network is secure.”
Dated April 27, the update posted by Patrick Seybold (Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media), would put the estimated return date for PSN services as May 3, meaning that the service will have been offline for two weeks.
Although which services will be coming back online next week is unclear, Sony has stated they are working on new security measures for the future, as well as seeking out those responsible for the breach, confirming they “are working closely with a recognized technology security firm in order to find those responsible for this criminal act, no matter where in the world they might be located.”
Source: PlayStation Blog + IGN
If you read it carefully, Sony stated that they’ve been working with a “recognized technology security firm”. That, we don’t know, and I bet it’s a top-secret-Sony thing.
The “project: system rebuild” is almost done, I believe. This crisis has led the service to a backlash. For 2 weeks of “NO PSN”, I bet this is considered to be a good news to PlayStation users. Hopefully, we can trust Sony to permanently secure our accounts forever. Oh, and don’t forget to think of a new password for your account(s), it is necessary to change password once the PSN service is up and running. Feel free to share this article. xoxo
EDIT: It seems like the article’s source, which is IGN, made a big mistake and players worldwide assumed that the service will be back exactly on the 3rd. According to a reliable source, Sony did not mention any exact date, instead, clarified that they only hinted that the service will comeback definitely starting on the 1st week of May 2011. Right now, May 5th, the time I’m writing this revision of this post, there are only a few days left for Sony to keep up with their promise. I, Mistercomputer, hope that it will all turn out well.
EDIT: I’ve seen a lot of people waiting and waiting and losing patience, so here you go, the latest from Sony Japan.
|> Bullet For My Valentine – Scream Aim Fire
After PLAT-ing three games (Dante’s Inferno, Tekken 6, Resident Evil 5) consecutively in a week of October, I decided to visit PlayStation Home and check out if there are some new things going on there. Of course, I cannot forget my new items in my wardrobe, thanks to the games I have PLAT-ed. Upon my visit, I tried rearranging my studio to give visitors a new look.
So far, I have acquired these Tekken 6 Arcade Cabinets:
These Resident Evil 5 action figures (with Galaga mascot):
Resident Evil 5 treasure Chest:
Some Tekken 6 Health Bottle:
Those Namco Museum Cabinet you can see out there:
I feel so happy that my own studio looked very pleasing now, as compared before. I even changed the wallpaper and re-arranged the couches and sofas, but next time, I hope Sony will add more and more items and options. Nevertheless, I praise Sony for doing something like this. Take a closer look at it:
And we shouldn’t forget daydreaming in the PlayStation Home world ^^
I never tried going out of my own studio cause I am doing something regarding PSN and my older brother’s Facebook. Anyway, my visit in my PlayStation Home character feels like a vacation just before my birthday. For now, I have to wait for another game to buy. While waiting, I should finish Fatal Frame 4 on my PC (emulated using Dolphin) and the reboot of Medal of Honor. I also can’t wait for Joe’s Adventures. XOXO
|> Queens of the Stone Age – No One Knows
It’s almost 2 weeks since the release of psgroove’s USB modchip, or what we call the primary Jailbreak of the PlayStation 3 console system. Many gamers became excited and at the same time, many PlayStation fan boys started to get pissed. I wasn’t one of those who got excited, not also a fan boy, but I just don’t support the jailbreak. I enjoy every single features of the PS3, what it is on its release, and what it is right now. Sony is doing well with their business of the new PlayStation Move. They didn’t let our folks, the black hat hackers, mess up our PS3s. Just 2 days ago, they released a new firmware, version 3.42, just to permanently (hopefully) block the USB modchip. But my theory is that, as stated on some site I’ve seen a couple of days ago, the USB chip is able to update itself, so that means every time Sony releases a new firmware to terminate the exploit, the dev team of the exploit will do the same, that is, to bypass or hack the new firmware. Well, that is just my theory. I hope it will only be a theory and will never ever be in reality coz’ if that happens, then expect brutality from Sony, like mandatory PlayStation Plus for every user and you will definitely say goodbye to the free PlayStation Network.
On the other hand, while I’m looking for the DLC for Mafia II (cracked ones), I’ve seen this site where you can download BD-ripped jailbreak files for the PS3. I have seen GTA: Episodes from Liberty City (8.0GB), Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (6.01GB), Just Cause 2 (3.63GB) and even the EPIC Mafia II (6.53GB). That was quick and sad. Those Jailbreak files are all provided by this cracking team called DUPLEX. I hope Sony will make an action about this thing. Hey guys from Sony, please help us gamers, we have a situation here! ^_^ Think about the numbers… 3GB…6GB…8GB!!!
Do you detest the jailbreak?
Download the firmware 3.42 now!

aryt now folks, finally i got my own PlayStation 3 Slim!!! yeah, it’s the slim one i got here and now i’m gonna introduce it to yah, my new gaming bestfriend (besides Black Honey, and the rest of my gaming gadgets)
ok, so we’ve got the new slim one. it’s slimmer than the originatl “phat” ps3 we’ve seen so far. the idea is that, it consumes less power, less space, but more enhanced “beasty” features such as improved CPU + GPU capabilities, more stable temperature control, and finally, lesser YLOD!!!
what i’ve got here is the CECH-2000A model, which is the 120gb version. this one’s an Asian version, so PlayStation Network Store should be in Hong Kong dollars, instead of USD or Japan Yen. PlayStation Store works for any region, just create another PSN account. Anyway, i don’t care about the currency etc etc… The only difference for me is the Cancel and Ok button which in US versions (X=Ok O=Cancel) while in my Asian version (X=Cancel O=Ok). Kind of different, as my PS2 is configured like the US version’s settings.
i bought the slim one on 110809, @ Datablitz Greenhills. Got it @ 16,800 bucks, my mom bought me as a late-birthday present, together with a copy of Tekken 6, which made me more addicted haha (It’s better to buy things with your mom thank just buying it alone, for her to see how happy you are). btw, this ps3 is equipped with the next generation GPU, called RSX, by NVIDIA, and a multicore CPU called Cell, by IBM. Honestly it’s so powerful, more powerful than today’s gaming PC, and the fact that it costs 299$ nowadays (compared to my Core i7 – Radeon HD4850 rig which cost me for 60,000bucks) and another fact that it has been released for 3 years already. It’s more powerful coz’ it has Wi-Fi, Ethernet port, Bluetooth, what else??? ahmm… the non-stop USB 2.0 action is still there, and the hundred dollar priced blu-ray drive that makes this console the beauty, the beast, and the best… better coz’, i can watch my favorite divx encoded avi, mp4, tp, ts and mkv videos of Girls’ Generation. actually i copied all the episodes of You Are My Destiny in the ps3 harddrive… yeah, it doesn’t suck… it’s wicked sick!!! coz’ i don’t have to place those dvd i burned just to watch them, i just need to navigate the system to the video option and BOOM!!! ok?
so, it comes with a piece of the new redesigned SIXAXIS and/or the never – ending series of the playstation controllers… what was it again? it’s dual shock… it’s dual shock 3!!! shocked? and we’ve got an AV cable, which is i prefer to use, since i don’t have any HDTV in my house at the moment. wait until mom bought one…or two? xD
END OF STORY ^^
